MAJOR SPONSOR - DaSilva Ukulele Co.
Mike DaSilva has been supplying B&H's instruments for a long time now, and we can now announce his fantastically generous involvement in Safari Oz... Amongst other things:
☆Mike has pledged some of his magnificent ukuleles so we can auction them to raise funds for the "Join the Safari" Video Contest
☆He is creating an completely new line of ukes for the Australian market, and will be launching them during the Oz Safari and at the Melbourne Ukulele Festival!
☆He's also giving us one of each model to take on the road for folks to try... These ukes may very well end up belonging to people we meet on Ukulele Safari Australia!
☆And, if that isn't enough, he's also making Bosko a new soprano uke!
Thank you SO much, Mike... without your support the whole Safari concept may never have even come into existence...
Here's Mike at his workshop/performance space/recording studio in Berkeley, California, having just presented Honey with the "Honey Signature Model" he made as part of his sponsorship of Safari 2008:

MAJOR SPONSOR - Kiwaya Japan
We're extremely pleased and honored to announce that KIWAYA is now a major sponsor of Ukulele Safari Australia 2010!
We have had a relationship with Kiwaya since our very first visit to Japan, and they have always been incredibly supportive of us and the Safari in general. Not only did they supply us with a beautiful KTC-3 mahogany concert ukulele for the 2008 Safari, they have facilitated many a contact, set up gigs and become our friends!
We cannot thank them enough, and now their support extends to Safari Oz (in a very generous manner!) and thanks to this, the project will become even more exciting! Kiwaya are also co-sponsoring the "Join the Safari" Video Contest!

We're extremely pleased that Ohana Ukuleles have just become the latest Major Sponsor of Ukulele Safari Oz 2010.
They will be providing substantial support for the Safari... in particular they have agreed to sponsor YALEGO and a large proportion of the costs of his participation.
Here's Yalego playing an appropriate Robert Johnson song on his Ohana soprano (we think he's looking forward to the Safari!):
Ohana are also kindly donating some lovely instruments for the upcoming Safari Auction fundraiser...
We couldn't be happier! Thank you Ohana!
Ohana Ukuleles have the deserved reputation for providing high quality instruments and making them available at a reasonable prices. There is also an incredible range of models and styles.
Ken Middleton (a music teacher and well loved ukulele YouTuber) is their knowledgeable European "ambassador" and a delight to deal with. He's a real gentleman to boot!
We'll have some special models with us on Safari for folks to try, and they'll be looking for good homes too ;)
MAJOR SPONSOR - FISHMAN

They are providing us with two Fishman SA220 Solo Performance Systems to take with us while we're on the road! The SA220 is a lightweight and portable line array that will serve the needs of ukuleles on Safari perfectly.
They are being supplied through Fishman distributor Musiclink Australia, with whom we are currently in discussion about other potentially exciting aspects of the Safari.
Thank you Fishman, thank you Musiclink and, importantly, thank you Johnson of aNueNue Ukuleles for putting us in touch!

*MIGHTY UKE, the MOVIE
*UPDATE FROM MIGHTY UKE:
From now until Christmas Eve 2010, if you buy any two items from mightyukemovie.com you will receive a MIGHTY UKE DVD free. But wait! That's not all! Every purchaser of any DVD, Blu-ray, t-shirt or poster from our website will be automatically entered in a raffle to win one of three MIGHTY UKE Kala Concert Ukuleles to be given away on Christmas Day.
In 2008 we were lucky enough to be a small part of the production of a wonderful feature documentary called "Mighty Uke".
Canadian ukulele couple and filmmakers Tony Coleman and Margaret Meagher were travelling the world making their film at the same time we were on Safari 2008, and after meeting them in New York, we kept in touch and even helped out with their Tokyo shoot.
We all felt the connection between our two projects, and the complimentary nature of our missions.
Now that their film is released you can also BUY the DVD!
Visit MightyUkeMovie.com to order the DVD (that comes with cool extras including a short on B&H!) as well as cool T-Shirts and stuff...
Tony & Margaret also generously helped us out with some equipment loans for Safari Oz which made documenting much easier and more professional :) Thank you SO much, guys!
Here's the film's trailer if you haven't already seen it...
